Did Whitney Houston’s Family Overreact To Casket Photo??
The National Enquirer doesn’t play. They get their shit, come hell or high water. Most celebs know that so that’s why so many stars spend a lot of time trying to discredit the decades old tabloid because they know the NE is capable of digging up all the dirt they want.
But last week’s blockbuster cover featuring the late Whitney Houston’s body in repose stirred lots of emotions. Some people say the NE seriously crossed the line; others say the public had a right to see those pics. After all, folks say, Whitney’s fans enjoyed her life–why not the share in mourning her death?
I say Whitney looked stunningly, breathtakingly beautiful in her coffin. I’ve never seen anybody look that good dead in my entire life.
I also say that somebody got paid for those pics. And I also say if Whitney’s family was smart, they would have sold the damn photos themselves and scapegoated the funeral home…
…Hmmmm…

Robbery A Motive In Murder of Philly Rapper With Alleged Mob Ties
The murder of Philadelphia rapper Tommy Butta Hill has stunned the Hip Hop community, and robbery may be the motive behind the murder.
News of Hill’s murder was originally revealed yesterday by my friend Jacky Jasper:
The 36-year-old Philadelphia rapper was critically wounded about 1:30 am Friday at Reuben’s Mark bar. That’s where cops say the manager of the spot followed Hill, who reportedly left the bar without paying his tab. While collecting his tab from Hill in the parking lot, the manager reportedly spotted three masked men in dark clothing across the street — who approached them and announced a robbery.

Shar Jackson’s Former Assistant Commits Suicide Near Her Home
Shar Jackson–former ‘Moesha’ actress and baby mama of Kevin Federline–is having a tragic Thanksgiving holiday weekend. That’s because her former assistant, a man named “Justice”, visited her and then killed himself near her home a few days ago, according to Perez Hilton.
There isn’t a wealth of information available right now about this very tragic and bizarre incident but what’s been reported thus far is that Justice visited Shar at her home in Corona, California and was reportedly very emotional and started drinking. He also had apparently been taking the anti-depressant, Valium.
After Justice left, Shar got concerned and went looking for him in her neighborhood. That’s when she found him hanging from a tree–dead.
If that wasn’t tragic enough, Shar’s eldest son Donnie and her cousin Brooklyn were with her when the man’s body was discovered. They all reportedly tried to resuscitate Justice but it was too late.
Not surprisingly, Shar is said to be extremely despondent over the whole unfortunate situation. Let’s keep both her family and Justice’s family in our prayers.

R.I.P. Joe Frazier
As you know, legendary former boxing champ Joe Frazier died yesterday after losing his battle with liver cancer. He was 67 years old.
There had been speculation for months that Joe Frazier was in seriously ill health and just days ago, it was reported that Frazier had been sent to a hospice facility.
Its bitterly ironic that Joe Frazier fought the most famous boxing match in the history of the sport, but was unable to enjoy the sort of lasting economic prosperity that Muhammad Ali and other boxers from his time enjoyed. In fact, Frazier told the New York Times in 2006 that he lived in a very modest one bedroom apartment atop his gym in Philly. He blamed his unsure economic outlook on him not promoting himself enough whole he was in the center of the media universe.
Regardless of his financial status, Joe Frazier is one of the most influential boxers to ever play the sport. People are still talking about the ‘Thrilla In Manilla’ that pitted him against Ali in 1971.
And the phenomenal ‘Rocky’ movie series drew much inspiration from the life of Joe Frazier, a lifelong Philadelphian.
Joe Frazier officially lost only four fights in his career and won 32 before eventually retiring back in 1981.
An interesting footnote to the conclusion of Frazier’s life was the fact that he and Muhammad Ali, once bitter enemies, had become cool in recent years. It was, reportedly, in no small part due to Joe wanting to move away from the past.

Coroner Confirms It: Amy Winehouse OD’d On Booze
A coroner has determined what everybody had been hearing all along: Amy Winehouse OD’d. But not on what you think it was. Amy just drank herself, basically, to death.
Coroner Suzanne Greenaway gave a verdict of “death by misadventure,” saying the singer died of accidental alcohol poisoning. “The unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels (of alcohol) was her sudden and unexpected death,” Greenaway said.
The singer, who had fought drug and alcohol problems for years, was found dead in bed at her London home on July 23 at age 27. An initial autopsy proved inconclusive, although it found no traces of illegal drugs in her system.–(NY Post Page Six)
A police inspector reported that he found emptied Vodka bottles scattered all around her bedroom at the time her body was found.
Tragically, Amy had fallen off the wagon after supposedly going booze-free for awhile.
Though this report probably kills a few rumors, many people are still left to wonder if the extra-talented singer actually wanted to kill herself or not.

Race Car Driver’s Death Caught On Video
Race car driving fans witnessed a gruesome scene yesterday at the Las Vegas Indy 300: A 15 car crash that ended up taking the life of 33 year old professional racer Dan Wheldon.
And the entire incident was caught on videotape.
I always heard some people go to those car races hoping to see an inevitable crash. I hope something like this isn’t what they have in mind.

Here’s a touching video of the man who revolutionized American technology discussing his own mortality with a graduate class. R.I.P. Steve Jobs.

‘Mother Of Hip Hop’, Sylvia Robinson Dies
The woman who blazed trails by forming Hip Hop’s first commercially successful record label and produced its earliest hits has died. Sylvia Robinson was 75.
Reports indicate Mrs. Robinson passed away from heart complications inside a New Jersey hospital early this morning.
In the 1960s, Sylvia formed a record label with her husband, Joe, called ‘All Platinum Records’, which released, among other notable songs, a major hit for ‘The Moments’ in 1970–a song called ‘Love On A Two Way Street’.
In 1973, Sylvia returned to the charts on her own and scored an R&B hit with the song “Pillow Talk”.
Later in the decade, Sylvia and Joe Robinson formed a new record label–Sugar Hill Records–which was named after the mostly African American neighborhood in Harlem. Not long after, Sugar Hill Records released a groundbreaking hit in a new music genre called ‘Rap’, and ‘Hip Hop’.
