Bishop Eddie Long Won’t Like This Skit At All…

…and neither will his beleaguered wife and stupefied congregants. Straight up, comedian Stevieweevie holds nothing back in this one.

Among the highlights:

* “Eddie Long” feverishly chopping up “cocaine” while listening to 80s track, “She’s A Maniac”.

* “Eddie Long” saying, “I love me some niggas in some skinny jeans, lawd Jesus!”

* “Eddie Long” singing “This little dick of mine, I’m gonna let it shine”.

LOL. Stevieweevie, if I were you, I wouldn’t visit New Birth Missionary anytime soon.

Why Won’t Eddie Long Just Step Down??

Disgraced New Birth Missionary Baptist Church leader Bishop Eddie L. Long told his congregation this morning that he needs a few weeks to get his family situation together.

“I’m still your pastor. You’ll still receive my direction,” Long said Sunday. “You’ve given me some weeks to take care of some family business.”

And the church quickly released a statement saying Long was not stepping down:

“Rumors that Bishop Eddie L. Long has stepped down as senior pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church are completely false”.

But a few protesters outside of his church today want what should have happened months ago: For Long to just go away.

I don’t even attend this church and I’m sick of this man. He’s a creep, a ridiculous hypocrite, and an obvious liar. Even his dumbfounded wife can’t stand him half the time, since a few days ago she went through a series of bizarre on-again, off-again statements saying she wanted a divorce.

He has about zero credibility and his church–and his wife–are now public laughingstocks.

So why won’t he just step down?

Eddie Long’s Wife Changes Her Mind

Just when you thought Eddie Wife’s wife, Vanessa, wasn’t pitiful enough, she turns around and makes herself look even more ridiculous by changing her mind about filing for divorce from her husband, Eddie Long.

“Upon prayerful reflection, I have reconsidered and plan to withdraw my petition for divorce from my husband, Bishop Eddie L. Long,” she said in an emailed statement bearing the New Birth logo. “I love my husband. I believe in him and admire his strength and courage.”

Obviously, she’s not fazed by the multimillion dollar settlement and allegations that her husband is a consummate undercover sausage lover. Some women will do anything to keep a man.

Eddie Long’s Wife: I Have Decided To Terminate My Marriage

Its over now. Eddie Long’s wife, Vanessa G. Long, has filed for divorce. This development ends months of speculation that the couple would split; rumor had it the couple had been living separately for months.

Here’s a statement the soon-to-be ex Mrs. Long released this morning:

“After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, I have decided to terminate my marriage to Bishop Eddie L. Long.  Accordingly, I authorized my attorneys to file for divorce on December 1, 2011.

“It is my sincere hope that this matter can be resolved expeditiously, harmoniously, and fairly.  I ask that you respect my privacy and that of my family, as my attorneys and I have agreed that we will not try this case in the media, and I do not intend to make any further statements concerning this matter.

“I also ask that the public pray for my entire family during this difficult period of transition.

“Thank you, and may God continue to bless and keep each of you.”–(CBS 46)

Obviously, the stress of finding out her husband was a prolific, undercover man eater became too much for dear Vanessa.

FEDS Get Involved In Eddie Long/New Birth Investment Scandal

The U.S. Secret Service has now joined the investigation into that failed investment scandal that cost 10 New Birth Missionary Baptist Church members over a million dollars.

This development raises the possibility that somebody could face federal charges in the swindle.

Pastor Eddie Long and the church has been hit with a lawsuit by the 10 members, some of whom remained in the church even after their cash flew away. They all say Long encouraged them to invest in the arrangement. Long’s also been accused of getting paid for his endorsement of the plan.

But several New Birth members split from the church after their money vanished in the program that was allegedly operated by City Capital Corp., and the firm’s former chief executive, Ephren Taylor. But Taylor was let go from the company, which was failing, and the money is long gone.

The whole thing is getting messy, especially since somebody called the feds, who like putting people in prison for things like this.

A U.S. Secret Service spokesman told Channel 2 Action News the agency is performing forensic examinations on laptops from New Birth on behalf of DeKalb County police, but the federal agency would not divulge any specifics. The actions of the federal and state agencies are separate, the state said. However, attorneys for the church members said some of their clients have had been approached by the Secret Service about the alleged investment scheme.

Scammed Members Of Eddie Long’s Congregation Sue Long & Church To Recover More Than $1 Million

Eddie Long can’t seem to catch a break. And once again, the embattled pastor is in the news, facing another lawsuit and being accused of not looking out for the people who trusted him.

This time its his own parishioners who are dragging him into court. It hasn’t been that long since the pastor settled that messy sex suit with all those guys who claimed he used cash and pricey gifts in order to gain the access needed to hammer their pieces over a several year period. And now comes word that Long may have been paid to endorse an investment seminar program that ended up being a scam that left 10 churchgoers more than a million dollars in the hole–and some just straight up destitute.

“I am responsible for everyone I bring before you and what they say,” Long said at the seminar, according to the lawsuit. “The gentleman that I am going to bring before you is an ordained minster. That gives me great pride to bring him for you.”

Yet another scandalous mess. How much longer before Long just resigns?

Bishop Eddie Long: Let’s Move Forward

Reputed dick-slinging preacher, Eddie Long, has decided to somewhat address the latest round of drama surrounding his alleged sexual indiscretions with former male members of his youth ministry. In a letter posted to the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church’s website, Long had this to say:

New Birth Members,
We have a long history of dutifully serving those in need in the local and global communities and we will continue to do so. We are committed to the calling of a strong, viable and relevant ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, we are in the media again and people are wondering what I am going to say. All I have to say is what we stated earlier. All parties involved decided to resolve the civil cases out of court. The decision was made to bring closure to this matter and allow us to move forward with the plans God has for this ministry.
I will continue to honor and abide by my commitment of confidentiality and restraint as it relates to the resolution of the civil litigation and will not be diverted from the important work of the ministry.

Of course, the reason Long is “in the media again” is because two of his accusers recently did an interview with Atlanta news media and offered some candid insight into the twisted sexual relationships they shared with the pastor, who previously embraced a virulent and hostile stand against homosexuality and the gay community.

Long’s accusers were awarded several millions of dollars in damages after their “sexual coercion” suit was settled out of court. The money was reported to have been allocated in increments spread out over a twenty year period. That’s a common practice when a civil judgment of this nature is awarded. But the award payments are solidly contingent on all parties maintaining strict silence concerning the circumstances of the case and the judgment.

But both Jamal Parris, 24 and Spencer LeGrande,23, have decided to risk all of the loot they won just to put out the word that the once-esteemed and enthusiastically homophobic preacher is a self-contradicting, hypocritical dirt bag who likes young boys.

But Long says he just wants to move forward. How convenient for him. Ironically, it hasn’t been a full year since he vowed to “fight this thing”.

Meanwhile, New Birth’s membership is holding surprisingly steady.

What Makes People Stick By A Disgraced Preacher??

Many people are shaking their heads at the news that a plurality of New Birth Church’s faithful are standing tall with their disgraced and embattled spiritual leader, Eddie L. Long.

Even as yet another young man is identified as a Long accuser, the faithful have closed ranks and hung in there. It probably wasn’t easy. Though last year’s blockbuster allegations rocked the New Birth congregation, the unveiling of the last accuser was probably enough to send a few more tremors through the church; the latest ID’d accuser was much more flamboyant than any of the other accusers which brought Long’s rumored same sex desires full circle in fiercely uber-gay fashion.

But that didn’t deter some of the flock, who continue to faithfully attend service, offer kind words and devotion to Long and undoubtedly open their purses and wallets as wide as they can come collection plate time–all while defending him in the press, regardless of how many victims are identified:

“That doesn’t matter to me. I know who he is and it’s just talk. He’s a good spiritual dad. So that’s all I can say,” said one supporter.
“Bishop Long is a man of god,” said another supporter. “People are trying to tear him down in all kinds of ways. I don’t believe the first one, and I don’t believe him now.”
When asked if she heard about the fifth accuser, the woman replied, “Yes. I think that’s just a scam to bring him down. He’s bringing the word out so strong right now. They (are) just trying to bring him down.”

Another New Birth devotee and Long follower also blamed the victims:

“Because my family has been going here for years, we know Bishop Long personally,” another woman said. “We’ve been here at the church and I feel like this – anytime you have four boys that know each other, sounds to me like a plot. The story you all are talking about, you all talked about that last September. I looked it up.”

Its telling that, with so much evidence and so many accusations thrown into the public realm, some of these people prefer to find fault with the self-described victim rather than take things at face value and hold the fallen preacher accountable–even when there was a multimillion dollar payout. When it comes to preachers, its an age-old story.

People find it hard to believe their pastors are less than honorable men of God. It seems to be too difficult for them to accept that the same man who is preaching against supposed sexual immorality from the pulpit, is also occasionally the same man who is pandering to prostitutes, addicted to porn and living a closeted gay or bisexual lifestyle on the low.

Some people’s devotion to their pastors is almost cult-like; frighteningly, its almost as if the pastor is replacing God and Jesus Christ as the focal points of church devotion. Whenever I see a person’s blind devotion to a seriously flawed pastor, I think of what happened at Jonestown in 1978, when Jim Jones (the preacher, not the rapper) lead an expedition to South America that ended up with hundreds of people dead from suicidal and forced poisoning.

‘He’s only a man’, crooked pastors’ supporters and their defenders say. How ironic that he’s only a man when he fails but the church co-signs him when he condemns everybody else to Hell, even though the condemned people are only men too. I think the word you’re looking for is hypocrisy, right?
