M.J.’s Kids Come Out For All-Star Tribute In Britain

Some members of the famous Jackson clan came to Cardiff, Wales, to watch a number of stars pay tribute to the late  King Of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson’s children were in attendance, along with a few cousins, three uncles and their aunt, the ever-ghoulish LaToya. By the way, that isn’t a Madame Tussauds wax figurine standing next to the kids on stage–frighteningly, its actually LaToya herself.

Michael’s kids were seen wearing a few of the threads he made famous, including that world-renowned “V”-letter, red and black jacket. Anybody ever figure out what the V stood for?

Among the star studded ensemble gracing the stage for the event were Jamie Foxx, Christina Aguilera, Gladys Knight and Cee Lo Green, Smokey Robinson and Ne-Yo, who perhaps wore the world’s shiniest pleather outfit ever known to man.

Ticket sales were said to be a drag for the event, which was boycotted by Janet and brothers Jermaine and Randy, who thought it was in poor taste to have the concert while the man who is accused of assisting in Michael’s death, Dr. Conrad Murray, is on trial.

Check out a few pix from the event after the break.

Jury Shown Photo Of Dead Michael Jackson In Murray Trial

Prosecutors seeking to put Michael Jackson’s doctor behind bars for the superstar’s death started the trial off by showing stunned jurors a photo of Jackson lying pale and lifeless on a hospital gurney.

Dr. Conrad Murray’s trial began this morning. He’s charged with involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death and faces a maximum of four years imprisonment if he’s convicted.

One of the prosecutors in the case said Michael Jackson’s trust in Dr. Murray ultimately proved fatal:

‘The evidence will show that misplaced trust had far too high a price to pay… it cost Michael Jackson his life.’
In his death photo, Michael Jackson can be seen in a hospital gown with a strip covering his nose and part of his mouth.
The photo was taken after medical professionals failed to revive the 50 year old singer’s heart following a cardiac arrest.

Aside from being a lousy doctor who didn’t even look over a patient who was under the inducement of normally surgical-strength anesthetics, prosecutors have said Murray was actually on the phone flirting with a cocktail waitress as Michael Jackson lay dying in his bed, ultimately succumbing to cardiac arrest.

It ain’t looking too good for ole’ Dr. Murray.

Finally, Michael Jackson’s Death Trial Set To Start Today

Its been more than two years since the ‘King Of Pop’, Michael Jackson, died. What took these people so long to bring this case to trial?

Of course, in the minds of Michael Jackson fans (and undoubtedly family members as well), Conrad Murray is a killer who should be facing a murder charge, as opposed to the relatively pedestrian involuntary manslaughter rap he’s trying to beat.

Murray’s defense will try to convince those 12 jurors that MJ himself may have administered that fatal dose of Propofol, but prosecutors will use the fact that Murray fell asleep while Jackson was getting what was supposed to have been a strictly supervised, hospital-setting dose of the coma-inducing meds.

And MJ’s worldwide fame might make Murray’s acquittal uniquely precarious: Several jurors have already went on the record as saying they were MJ fans.

If convicted, Murray’s only looking at a max of 4 years in prison.

The trial is expected to last several weeks, so don’t expect a really quick verdict.

Michael Jackson’s Peoples Are Now Rolling In Dough; Superstar’s Estate Valued At Over A Quarter Billion $$

The late King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, was living in a rented mansion and preparing an exhaustive European tour to bring in much-needed loot at the time of his death from a reported Propofol overdose. But since his passing a little over two years ago, the value of his estate has mushroomed to over a quarter billion dollars–and that’s AFTER all the many outstanding bills and liens and so on were paid off, the result of M.J. living like money wasn’t a thing when he was alive.

But money actually was a thing and it appears that Michael had been subsisting primarily on borrowed money from his Beatles catalog.

New documents reveal … Michael Jackson was in such debt at the time he died, his Beatlescatalog was almost valueless, but the Estate has worked nothing less than a financial miracle to right the ship.

The docs — obtained by TMZ — show that at the time Michael died, his net worth was around $50 million.  Shockingly, the ATV Publishing Trust — the Beatles catalog — was valued at only $474,544.  We’re told the reason it was so low was because Jackson had borrowed around $300 million against it.

Now, fast forward to October, 2010 — 15 months after MJ’s death.  The net value of MJ’s estate — under the leadership of the Executors — swelled to $218,964,000.  And get this … that figure doesn’t include $185 million the Estate paid out for loans, family allowances, interest, paying off the Hayvenhurst mortgage, etc.
There are no figures for the current value of the Estate, but sources say it’s worth much more than the valuation in October, 2010.–TMZ

As you know, Michael Jackson was the world’s most famous and beloved entertainer ever. But shockingly frivolous spending had exhausted him financially, along with a massive $25 million payout to a kid who claimed the star had molested him.

Its no surprise that Michael’s many legions of fans have helped rescue the icon’s once failing financial legacy. I think its safe to say he’ll eventually end up surpassing Elvis’ massive net worth, since many of the people who count themselves as fans of the long-dead (and rumored racist) Elvis are either seriously up in years or deceased themselves.

Trouble Brewing Over Michael Jackson Tribute Concert??

There’s some drama stirring over the highly publicized Michael Jackson tribute concert. The star-studded fest–which will include performances by Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, Smokey Robinson, Craig David, 3T (a.k.a. Tito Jackson’s three sons) and others–is expected to be quite a hot ticket when it goes down on October 8th in Cardiff, Wales.

And the ticket prices are just as hot as the line-up: Fees range from $90 to $300.

But the Estate of Michael Jackson has some issues with the widely touted tribute. The people behind the estate–and remember, oddly, it isn’t the Jackson family, per se, but rather M.J.’s legal reps–are none too pleased with the way things are going down, especially the participation of Rock band KISS’ Gene Simmons, who said he believed M.J. was a child molester.

TMZ has the legal document sent by M.J.’s lawyers to the event promoters.

Reportedly, and not surprisingly, papa Joe Jackson is a force behind the event. Everybody knows that daddy Joe is a greedy ass old man and his estranged wife, mama Katherine, is reportedly in cahoots with the whole thing as well. But their payday might not come if this event is somehow held up through some legal snafu.

The estate also said its concerned that the event promoters have said they can’t guarantee who will or who won’t ultimately show up to perform and that even if more than half of the announced artists don’t perform at all, the show will go on and there’ll be no refunds issued whatsoever.

Not exactly Woodstock, I guess.

Michael Jackson’s Son Has A Girlfriend??

Michael Jackson’s eldest son, Prince Michael Jackson, 14, has a new gal pal who might be his chick. She’s pictured at right with him and his little brother, Blanket, 9.

M.J.’s kids are growing fast, aren’t they? And they have been pictured having fun and enjoying themselves a lot since their world famous dad died in 2009 of a Propofol overdose. Its quite a change from the seclusion and mystery they were subjected to in the years prior to his passing.

Meanwhile, am I the only person who thinks these kids are adopted? Now, Blanket–maybe, maybe not; but Prince Michael? Let’s not be ridiculous. There is no similarity between him and anybody else in that family, period. MJ was by all accounts a loving dad but there’s no way the Jackson family is gonna have us believe MJ’s kids are biologically related to them.

By the way, here’s how MJ looked like when he was Prince Michael’s age:

No hate intended, but its still weird that he went out of his way to father White kids, don’t ya think? Makes you re-think that “vitiligo” story, doesn’t it?

R.I.P. Michael Jackson.

Lawsuit Over 2007 Michael Jackson Prank Call

Michael Jackson is not getting a chance to rest in peace. Remember the crank call that infamous prankster Ralphige made to Michael Jackson in ’07, pretending to be MJ friend singer Akon? The one in which MJ’s folks vehemently denied was the real MJ? Well, it seems the estate has changed gears and now appears to be acknowledging that it actually might have been the real MJ who was duped over the phone by the fake Akon because the estate is threatening to sue Ralphige to prevent the sale of the recording, which Ralphige had been selling for 99 cents.

Reportedly, Ralphige’s site is down. So obviously the Jackson camp ain’t playing games.

At the time the recording was released, Michael Jackson’s camp denied it was MJ on the phone. That could be because MJ–or whoever it was that answered the phone–sounded naively childlike and even a little bit stoned on the phone.

And whoever was on the receiving end of the call–whether it was the real MJ or not–carried on a conversation for several minutes that included a discussion about music, African orphanages, blood diamonds and even child molestation. If you missed it a few years ago, check out a radio interview with Ralphige above that includes the entire call, via World Star Hip Hop.

This call was in bad taste but its kinda funny in a creepy sort of way.

If it was MJ on the phone, at least he isn’t the only person to get duped by Ralphige, who enjoys pranking celebs on the phone: In the past, he’s fooled Donald Trump, Chris Brown and Jay-Z, among others.

If I had to bet, I’d say it was Michael on that call. Check it out and tell me what you think–real MJ or an impostor?

Michael Jackson’s Death: 2 Years Later

Its been two years since the death of the greatest music artist that ever lived, Michael Jackson. And in honor of the second anniversary of his death, here’s the greatest video ever produced–1982′s “Thriller”.

MJ’s death is an occurrence that no matter how old you live to be, you’ll never forget. I remember being at Office Depot and getting a call from my mom saying MJ was dead. I was so shocked, I shouted out loud, “Michael Jackson Is Dead?!”. It seemed like everybody in the store–employees and customers alike–turned and looked at me in shocked unison. I heard a bunch of “what?’s” and then it seemed like everybody in the store’s phones started ringing at the same time. I’m being kinda melodramatic, but I bet scenes like that played out all over the country. Maybe even over the world.

Even if we never find out what happened in that bedroom that MJ’s life slipped away in, one thing’s sure: there will NEVER be another Michael Jackson. Real talk.

In other MJ news, reports are swirling that the doctor widely suspected of administering the fatal Propofol dose that killed MJ, Dr. Conrad Murray, will not accept any plea bargain–even one that precludes jail time. That might be a good thing since its also being reported that Los Angeles prosecutors won’t be offering him one in the first place. Fight on?
