Soulja Boy’s New Album Cover
Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy says his new album will defy expectations, restore the Hip Hop public’s rapidly eroding confidence in his artistry, and prove he’s matured:
“Right now I’m working on my new album, It’s called ‘Promise’ — my fourth album to release from Interscope Records. It’ll be in stores top of 2012. I want everybody to support.”
[The album is] just really showing the growth and maturity of Soulja Boy. It’s going to be dope. It’s going to be lot of great records on it, a lot of dope features, a lot of great production. I want all my fans to check it out.”–(HHNM)
He’s got his work cut out for him. Last year’s The DeAndre Way was supposed to do all those same things and it notoriously flopped.
As of late, Soulja’s music has earned few headlines, but his extracurricular activities and commentary otherwise have: In just the last year alone, Soulja dissed the troops; lied about buying a private jet; and managed to get bagged in Carroll County, Georgia on a drug case–which is still pending.
Soulja’s made lots of money and earned international fame over the years. But another flop album may indicate consumers are seriously over this fella.

Soulja Boy Suing Over Management Contract
You already knew that Soulja Boy was no nuclear physicist, but who could have guessed that, for years, he’s been getting allegedly screwed out of what is probably millions of dollars by his ex-manager, a man SB says lured him into signing a contract that was “unconscionable, oppressive, and unjust”?
According to the docs, the contracts included a management agreement that gave Ransom 5% of Soulja’s income … forever … relating to work the rapper completed while Ransom was his manager.
Another contract allegedly gave 50% of all Soulja’s music copyrights to his record label — a deal the rapper now claims is “commercially unreasonable” and “contrary to music industry custom and practice.”–(TMZ)
Its possible that declining record and nose candy sales have SB taking a harder look at his finances, thus the pending lawsuit. Just goes to show that all record industry contracts are NOT created equal.

Soulja Boy Hit With Eviction
A clearer picture is emerging of Soulja Boy’s finances, and offers an explanation as to why he went from topping the charts to reportedly hustlin’ lean out of his Escalade: The ‘Crank Dat’ rapper might be heading for broke.
According to TMZ, SB is facing eviction from his swanky Buckhead condo, which costs almost five racks per month.
TMZ has learned the rapper, real name DeAndre Way, has not paid his November rent for his Atlanta pad — a whopping $4,725 — so he’s been served with eviction papers. Soulja has until December 5 to pay up, or risk getting thrown out.
A rep for Soulja had no comment.–(TMZ)
This is unfortunate. But maybe its an oversight or something. In any case, I guess he can cancel that jet order, huh?

This is the first video Soulja has done since he went completely platinum blond.
Obviously, this was shot with a cell phone camera in an impromptu moment. But its actually a better video than some his more costlier efforts. Ironic.

Check out this new pic of Soulja Boy, who has once again gone blond. That’s an unidentified fan with him in the pic, an unfortunate soul who laid out the $20 for Soulja’s new straight-to-DVD movie.
Apparently, this pic was taken sometime after Soulja was bagged by cops in that sleepy town in Carroll County, Georgia last week. Soulja barely spent two days in jail so the blonde transformation has nothing to do with that.
Besides, this isn’t Soulja’s first time trying the Chris Brown look; but it is his first time coloring his while head sunshine yellow.

Was Soulja Boy On The Serve When He Got Knocked??
Soulja Boy has never been officially recognized as gangsta or even thuggish. An occasional arrest; allegedly snorting lean in a hotel with Hip Hop Hoveround Kat Stacks; and a non-combative Rap beef with Bow Wow and Ice-T earned hardcore points but certainly do not quantify thug certification.
For clarity, Soulja’s always been ‘hood. But there’s a difference between being hood and gangsta. That’s a little Ghetto Life 101 for your enlightenment, free of charge.
Soulja Boy is changing in front of our very eyes. And he’s becoming way more gangsta than we ever imagined; in fact, it appears Soulja’s decided to shed that ‘kid next door who raps and gets into shit here and there’ image for Thug Life Atlanta.
Soulja’s street cred is rising. Whether or not that’s a good thing is a matter of opinion, but its rising nonetheless. And an armed, loaded down, late night foray into rural Carroll County invites an obvious and intriguing question: Was Soulja Boy on the serve when he was busted the other night in Carroll County, Georgia? If so, Soulja’s hood stock just went up big time.
