Are T.I. And Young Jeezy In Decline??

As a devoted patriot of my city, any time I hear an anthem dedicated to The A, it gets my attention. But I don’t know about this track. Its like the 20,000th track either of these two has done about Atlanta and the streets and at this point, I think we get it: T.I. and Young Jeezy are street niggas who happen to drive Porsches and Lambos and live in mansions.

Sadly and in all realness, this track is hot but its not the awe-inspiring offering that I think two of Atlanta’s foremost acts expected it would be when they came together for the project.

Now in their 30s, are we now witnessing something unthinkable: The beginning of the impending decline of Jeezy and T.I.?

Sticky Fingaz – The Whole Damn New York

Remember Sticky Fingaz from the group Onyx? I know its been a very long time since the New York-based group rocked the charts but Sticky Fingaz kept the checks coming, and managed to appear in no less than 40 TV shows and movies over the years–regardless of whether he had music in the streets or not.

New Video…Monica – Until It’s Gone

New visuals from Monica, with a cameo by actor Brian J. White.

Monica’s new album, “New Life”, drops on December 13th.

The Atlanta-born singer turned 31 years old yesterday. Her sound has evolved but she still has the appeal that we liked so much back in 1995, when she first exploded onto the scene. I remember first seeing her at a Sam Goody records store in Underground Atlanta that summer and thinking she was gonna be around a long time. And that ended up being the case.

Now the question is, will this new album get her back near the top of the R&B game? In a world of Rihanna, Beyonce and Lady Gaga, Monica might have to work extra hard to keep music consumers’ attention.

New Video: Boyz II Men – One Up For Love

New video from The Temptations. Oops, just kidding, I meant Boyz II Men. These guys are one of the best-selling and most influential groups of all-time and they’re back in business and making moves.

This track/video is off the iconic, Philly-based group’s new album, ‘Twenty’, which hits stores both online and retail tomorrow.

New Video…Rihanna – We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)

Here it is, Rihanna’s new video to her hit track, “We Found Love”. You might remember this video was hyped up because, during the shoot, Rihanna decided to let her jugs get a bare feel of the brisk Irish air. But the farmer who’s land was the scene of the essentially soft-porn photo shoot wasn’t having that at all on his land, and demanded what he assumed to be a crazy, singing Black chick (he’d never heard of Rihanna) to put her top back on immediately.

And the light skinned dude in the video, British boxer and model Dudley O’Shaughnessy, was said to be romancing Rihanna but days after that story broke, he kinda suggested he wasn’t even interested.

Lots of publicity for this video so let’s hope its good.

New Video…Bow Wow – Bars And No Hook

It looks like Bow Wow had a little extra time on his hands and/or maybe he did this video because someone made him do it. Either way, the man is seen rapping while presumably on the toilet. Not exactly what you would call classy, huh?

Meanwhile, last week, Bow was the subject of rumors that his Bentley had been repossessed. But I think he’s always the victim of repo and near-bankruptcy rumors. Some folks, it seems, want to see this dude rapping with a soup can on a street corner.

But if he keeps turning out mediocre tracks (like this), that might be a possibility. Someone please give this man some better songs, please.

All else aside, Bow is said to have evolved into the perfect father for newborn daughter Shai and that’s some good news.

New Video…Travis Porter: We Outchea

This is, I think, intended to be a kinda behind the scenes/fan tribute video. It does have a sort of documentary feel to it. Sort of.

Travis Porter definitely approach their craft in an innovative way.
